How to enable automatic updates on your Apple TV

For some people, this is a welcome feature from Apple however some may prefer to update their software manually which you do have the option to do. This means you don’t have to keep tabs on the latest updates and new software available and remember to install it. This feature is also available on the new iOS 7 software for iPhone/iPad and allows users to automatically update all their apps in the App Store.

With that in mind, you’ll want to make sure you have the automatic update setting set to your preference. On your Apple TV launch the Settings app, then visit General > Software Updates.

Here you’ll find the option to check for an update, along with the option to enable (or disable) automatic updates.
