What does it do?
Joining the already booming ‘Make A Scene’ app range, Make A Scene: Easter has appeared just before the easter season. This app allows you to create, save and share pictures that you make using ‘stickers’ which you place on an already created background. With this new addition, over 60 ‘stickers’ are given to you to use across 7 unique colourful and fun backgrounds. It can be used by multiple children at any time as multi touch is enabled on your device to prevent arguing and fall-outs. Looking at the more serious side of the application, the benefits to children are really quite apparent. Skills such as vocabulary, motor and co-ordination skills can be quickly developed through the use of pictures and simple spoken words. Once you have finished your creation, you aren’t limited to saving it to your device either. All of your pictures can be shared via. Facebook, Twitter and email to your friends and family.
What’s the verdict?
Make a Scene: Easter is a great app aimed at kids to help them learn as well as entertain them for hours on end. The backgrounds and foregrounds are colourful and the animations are very clever and engaging. ‘Stickers’ are designed very clearly and the voice over when the object is selected is very clear. When the stickers are placed, a sound effect is made (which we found rather amusing) which repeats every so often. Overall, a very fun and engaging concept with the potential to be a serious learning tool for smaller children.
