There are some apps that you use every single day without fail, and then those that you only use on occasion  Today’s blog will show you the apps that you won’t be able to go a day without, and that you are sure to use on a daily basis. News

Summly

Summly allows users to select your favourite news topics and sources and then generates summaries from varying sources. You can then search using keywords to find the exact story you want and Summly will find this for you and summarise it. With unique gestures and functions, this app can summarise lengthy news stories and simply give you the main points – extracted from reliable sources. Press on any summary and reveal the ‘Summflower’ which allows you to share the stories through social media. The Summflower also gives you access to your favourite stories, the full article or a more detailed summary.

Weather

Met Office : Weather application

The Met Office weather application provides up to date and real time reports of weather conditions and the 5 day upcoming forecast. A map system is used to mark out where there is rain currently and where it is expected to travel. You can also change the time on the bottom of the map to show a prediction of what the weather is set to be like at that time of day. This map is completely variable and the weather is represented using small icons of the weather conditions. Other details such as temperature, wind speed and UV exposure can also be identified using this same map. Forecasts can be kept up to date for your area by adding specific locations onto the forecast chart.
